Thus far this has not been a problem.  RQ (or at least how we are playing) 
has a fairly limited number of skills, which I think is a strength of the 
game.  Additionally, the knowledge based skills you don't get checks for; 
which makes perfect sense.  If i succesfully identify something using some 
lore skill, I'm not going to know any more of that lore as a result.

The other thing is, there are no munchkins in our groups so we don't have 
people doing lame things to improve thier skills, such as the weapon golf 
bag thing.

So overall, I would say that David's application of experience gains, where 
we track checks for each skill on each successful use, has not been a burden 
at all.
