  Yes, very much so. And I at least I find them lacking, specially in realism. 

>Does the Monster book cover other playable races for the game? This seems 
to be lacking in some reviews. How many can be used, and what is the detail 
gone into making them as PC's...
   
  The monster book contains stats for elves, trolls and dwaves, but no rules for generating characters from them.
