Unfortunately few examples in real life, but many in
photos.  I have also played a Scythian goldsmith in
Mythworld.

Probably, but which Americans, those who flew over,
steamed over, blew over, or walked and paddled over? 
Besides, America runs from Elsmere Island to Tierra
del Fuego.
 
Personally, regarding Mythworld, most of my gene pool
blew over while most of my American ancestors walked
or paddled.  All were here in time to not only be on
both sides in the 1860s unpleasantness, but at least
twice on both sides of the same battle.  Our family
oral tradition has a large gap for that period.
